Summertime is for playing, and laughing, and enjoying each other…for talking, and running, and eating, and seeing…

And giving thanks for it all.

Thanks for splashing, and teasing…

For water flying and water landing…

For togetherness and for fun.

For brimming smiles…

and pruny hands…

For cold watermelon,

And drips on faces…

For the coolness of the ground and wetness falling all around…

For water flowing and overhead drenching,

And for being soaked and saturated and overwhelmed.

And isn’t this what He does?

Like water cascading up and dancing overhead…

Pouring out His love and mercy…

Flowing it over me again and again in a relentless up-spouting of movement…

Drenching, and soaking, and saturating me with His lovingkindness and mercy, in every. single. moment.

Of every. single. day.

To be found engulfed in Him and the profound thanks it brings…

This is Summertime.

Psalm 106:1

Praise the LORD!
Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good;
For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

 

Psalm 44:8

In God we have boasted all day long,
And we will give thanks to Your name forever. Selah.
