Rest.
I must admit, it’s a rare commodity for me these days. I am going a million gazillion miles a minute in this new vibrant, invigorated, and very full life of mine. So many hats…a wife, mom, teacher, friend, mentor, nurse, daughter… so many purposes and goals, and still only a finite number of minutes in each day…{Whew!}
And although I’m SO very busy, it is a FULL life I’m living. And while I do need to work on more time for physical rest, I am so very grateful for the tasks I’m pouring my whole heart into. Being a present and purposeful mama, aiming at intentional relationship and a baton-passing of righteousness to these little people of mine, one little nugget at a time. We are walking the minutes and the hours together, and learning with one another to pursue Him who provides Ultimate Rest.
His, a rest not acquired by sleeping or vacations, but by the very richness of His presence. When we take the time to look for Him, He infuses our very beings with who He is. When we take the time to stop and bow hearts low, and open hands wide to all He wants to give, He meets us there, even amidst the chaos and the mess.
Ah the joy to seek His presence in each moment of our days together…this new homeschooling journey we are on…
In the wonder of her eyes as she learns the sounds of letters and paints with the colors of the dry erase markers.
In his excitement about a new book that he reads in one sitting.
In their wonder in learning about nature, this world that He has made.
The rest of life doesn’t matter when our souls are at rest in Him, in the rhythm of His grace, recognizing ALL He is, and ALL He gives, and ALL He has done for me.
My heart and soul is at rest knowing I am exactly right where he wants me to be…sleep deprived and all! (I’ll have to work on that!) And He HAS saved me and dealt bountifully with me and I rest in that this day!
May you find rest in Him this day, no matter your chaos or mess!
In what ways do you need rest?
I’m joining Lisa-Jo, over at her site today, to take five minutes and just write without worrying if it’s just right or not. The challenge is to write for 5 minutes flat with no editing, tweaking or self critiquing, with the prompt she gives. And today, her prompt: Rest….and this post today a smidge more than 5 minutes…

You got it…sleep has nothing to do with the soul at rest6.

Beautiful. I needed to read this today.
” His, a rest not acquired by sleeping or vacations, but by the very richness of His presence. When we take the time to look for Him, He infuses our very beings with who He is.”
Oh thank you for these sweet, inspiring words. Bless you, friend.
