Sometimes in life, we exist as one domino in a row of many, poised and positioned to fall in the most glorious ways … changing one another’s lives forever.
I recently attended Women of Faith, and Rich Stearns, president of World Vision, U.S. presented some thought-provoking inspiration.
He described how God has big plans for us all, and how He always uses ordinary people to change the world.
And in God’s story, we are often dependent on one another.
Because together we can do things we could never accomplish alone.
Did you know it’s been shown that if you create a chain of dominoes, each one 1 1/2 times the size of the previous one, the cumulative effect of their fall is exponential. So much so, that if the first domino in the chain is a mere 5mm high and 1mm thick, the 29th domino to fall would be the height of the Empire State Building?
Domino Chain Reaction
When one tiny domino falls with the tiniest force, it has the potential to effect the kind of force to fall a domino the size of the Empire State Building!
And that’s what God does with each one of us. We are each a domino in God’s elaborate plan. And God places us in the right place at the right time, perched and ready to fall, by His Divine providence alone.
He sends opportunities, and He calls…
Lean in.
Fall.
And when we do, He magnifies the results, accomplishing things we never dreamed possible.
“Only God can multiply seemingly insignificant things to knock over skyscrapers.” ~@RichStearns
What happens when dominoes fall?
One domino leans over to fall the next, and amazing things happen as God orchestrates it all in His time. [Tweet that]
Today I’m over at Allume, sharing memories of my very first blogging conference, and remembering all the dominoes who leaned in and fell in my path.
Humble, generous, and kind writers, who make me better for knowing them.
Everything we do, no matter how small, matters.
May you know today, whether it’s a diaper you’re changing or a Supreme court case you’re arguing, what you are doing is impacting the world in ways you may never know.
It really truly is!
How did someone inadvertently change your life?
Join me over at Allume today,
to hear the beginning of my blogging story…
And if you want to know more about The Allume Conference,

And I heard Rich Stearn’s same talk and video and it was pretty awesome. 🙂 God used that conference to renew my soul with time of worship and quiet and just the first time i’ve ever been away from my daughter… to be refreshed!! 🙂 Awesome just thinking if you might have been there among the 10,000 women as well 🙂

“He magnifies the results” Yes! Reminds me of the story of having the faith of a mustard seed. He can do so much with a little.
