Mud Stories is a podcast dedicated to bringing you inspiration in your muddiest moments, hope to make it through your mud, and encouragement for you to know, you are not alone.
In today’s episode I’m talking with my friend (and yours) Crystal Stine–a toddler-wrangling, coffee & chocolate loving, full-time working mama who is married to her high-school sweetheart.
She’s the editorial and marketing manager of the online site (in)courage.me–her new job that has come in the aftermath of devastating job loss, financial hardship, and crisis.
In this episode we discuss:
- Crystal’s personal mud story of job loss and financial hardship
- Career aspirations of women & the difficult transition of becoming a mother
- The challenge of mothers working outside the home
- How online connections can bring true community
- The important effort of resting
- The benefits of life-coaching
- And how crisis and tragedy can be one of God’s greatest gifts
Crystal lives in PA with her husband and sweet daughter, is passionate about living authentically in the beautiful, messy, and unfinished parts of life, and loves to encourage others more than just about anybody I know.

Another great podcast, Jacque! I love hearing these encouraging messages from these strong women and I was so excited to see Crystal’s face pop up on here this week. Her story just inspires me so much. Over the last few months I’ve felt God trying to lay a new foundation in my life and I haven’t wanted to see the signs. The thought of change has been hard for me. However, going on a family vacation in July really opened my eyes to this change. Follow that up with Declare that surrounded me with “Wild Obedience” two weeks later and I’ve never been more certain of the changes that need to occur. I’m still weeding through many technicalities – some which are very difficult to embrace – but I know God’s in control of this and even if I can’t see where I’m going I know that trust is key. How I WISH I could see a year down the road… Keep it up, lady – love the constant encouragement!

So true Jennifer…if only we could see, but then we wouldn’t need to trust and we wouldn’t be propelled toward HIM in the process!! Thank you so much for your encouraging message and words to me today. I’m so SO thankful for them..xo
