Mud Stories is a podcast dedicated to bringing you inspiration in your muddiest moments, hope to make it through your mud, and encouragement for you to know, you are not alone.
In today’s episode I’m talking with Jess Connolly, who shares how she’s the wife to a really handsome church-planting pastor, and the mom to four crazy rambunctious kids. And she’s a coffee-lover and hope junkie too.
Jess is the co-founder of the Influence Conference and Network, and also founded and began her Naptime Diaries Shop in 2011, and which has been growing ever since. She resides in South Carolina with her husband and four kids, and together they are passionate about the Gospel and Community.
In this episode, Jess candidly shares her mud story including many issues so common to brokenness…
- Drugs, sex, and alcohol at a young age
- He battle with smoking and depression
- Identity crisis and suicide attempt
- And the constant brokenness of feeling ‘not enough’
Together we discuss:
- The messiness of motherhood
- The challenges of having kids close in age
- The power of counseling and intervention when we’re brokenr,
- And the power and touch of God as we choose to press in and run toward Him, even in the middle of our most broken moments.

SCRIPTURE:
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor;
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound to proclaim the year of the Lord‘s favor,
and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;
to grant to those who mourn in Zion—
to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
that they may be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.
Isaiah 61:1-3 (ESV)
